The Technology Assessment for Food Operators
(5-mins)
Purpose of this Assessment
Cost of living increases have led consumers to focus on lower-margin necessities, putting pressure on grocers to reduce spending. Many grocery retailers and food distributors (eg co-ops) made significant technology outlays in recent years; many lacking a comprehensive strategy.
There’s pressure to justify ROI on technology spending and many technology issues include - cost increases, dated technology, vendor use of POS data, lack of AI strategy, barriers between systems, manual processes, and having the right technology talent.
There’s an opportunity to establish a high performing technology operation which includes setting technology purchasing standards such as master agreements to protect the food operator’s data, renegotiating existing technology agreements while building a plan for future investments.
The assessment can give the food operator the following -
- A personalized technology posture score
- Understand key areas for improvement
- An opportunity to receive an expert consult based on the results
Who should take this assessment?
Owners, CFO, COO or similar roles.
